Fitasha returns with her third record, RUSH, an embodiment of the singer in all layers of her dynamic artistry. Leading the charge is Fitasha’s blazing new single, ‘FAMOUS’, a powerful declaration of agency, power, and authenticity.
Fitasha maintains that to define her is to limit her, and strives to make music that authentically reflects her soul. Her ambition and forthrightness is apparent in RUSH, a soulful jazzy hiphop 15-track strong project where the singer was sure to leave her mark on all writing, production, and recording elements. The record represents a clear direction for Fitasha, signalling her singular focus on her career, feelings and dreams. ‘FAMOUS’ opens the record with Fitasha’s fierce vocals, backed by rhythmic percussion and playful arrangements.
Fitasha is an independent singer-songwriter based in Madrid. Orbiting - but not strictly to - the genres of hip-hop, neo-soul and R&B, Fitasha blends nodes of traditional and contemporary, creating soundscapes of lush arrangements topped with powerhouse vocals.
Establishing ‘FAMOUS’ as her “villain song”, Fitasha shares that the track is “my reminder to not let anyone distract me from my goals and convince me of lies, deals and illusions.” She shares, “I WAS MAD. I was so tired of letting people take advantage of me, lying to me, telling me how to do things. Or what music to create, what to say, to sing more Spanish… ‘FAMOUS’ is a mantra for me to remember that I’m my own boss and I don’t care who you are, or where you came from, or your fortune - I don’t care, I decide. This song means people from now on know I have sharp teeth, and I’ll bite. VILLAINS ARE NOT BORN, THEY ARE MADE.”
Previously garnering recognition and praise from Rolling Stone Mexico and Colombia, Fitasha’s new record is a definitive breakdown of where her mind is currently at, where self-love, self-improvement, trust in instinct and escapist love interact at the forefront. Combining versatility and playful contrasts, Fitasha delves into both English and Spanish lyricism, and genre-bending musicalities as Jazz, Dnb, Hiphop, Rnb, NeoSoul, elevating not just her musical ability, but her strength as a woman. She shares, “women are not born strong, we become strong by surviving and fighting the storms we go through.”
Gearing up for a 2025 Rush tour, Fitasha will be opening La Sala Sirocco on the 7th of December alongside fellow Rap/Hiphop artists from Madrid, and officially presenting the LP in La Sala Sotano for her FUNGI GANG. Currently in the works are more dates in Barcelona, Oviedo, Málaga, Alicante and England.
